Nio's Happy Mushy Thoughts

I need a "pick-me-upper". The past few days have been nothing short of, again, disappointing. Sabi nga ng Tatay ni Happy Slip... DISASTER!!!

Now I decided to put my gah-gah, mushy-mushy, "make me smile" thoughts for everyone to read and eventually, create a source of "point your finger to the crazy dude" situation when you see me. Maybe you'd find that we have something in common, maybe you wouldn't. But for sure, there'd be some surprises waiting for you within this blog. So, here goes...

1) I love the smell of rain. Actually, I love the rain, period! If it's really pouring out, I sometimes let myself get wet. Our Nanay encouraged us to bathe in the rain when we were kids. Rain brings me back to good-old memories of when my Nanay was still here in the Philippines. Even the strongest typhoons I've experienced growing up are remembered not because of the damage it brought, but how it brought our family closer because of the state our house was in before(bawal tumalon, bawal huminga ng malalim, at bawal bumaheng ng malakas, he he he he!!!)

2. I love sharing the food in my plate with people close to me.

3. If I hear something I like over the radio, I have to sing along with it... whether it may be in my head or out loud.

4. I love Burger Machine! Double Bart Burger with cheese AND EXTRA CHEESE? YUM!!! But... oh yeah, there's Jollibee's Champ! PANALO!!!

5. I absolutely love well-thought-of gifts! It doesn't have to be pricey (although, I must admit, I am a signature-ry type person) as long as a lot of thought goes behind it. I love getting useful stuff that won't clash with my stuff or my room, otherwise... it's just going to be in storage until it meets the garbage bin in the future(sorry!!!)

6. Audrey Hepburn still makes me giddy!

7. I love almost anything that goes way back before the 50's (minus the negative obvious stuff)... the music, the clothes, the movies... and so on.

8. I miss teaching kids in urban places (via VBS, missions and outreaches. It easy to fall in love with kids in the provinces because they are less of a head-ache than the kids here in the Metro. I've been doing it ever since I turned 14-16, and it's now 3 or 4 years that I haven't been doing it. Miss it!

9. Cafe Mediterranean is one of my simple joys (pasta prociutto pomodoro sechi, not necessarily in that order or spelling, gyros, hold the onions, oozing with garlic sauce, a bit of the chili sauce, plus bottomless iced-tea... humanahumanahumanahumana...)

10. Hitting a high, perfect note on my violin without "searching" for it... sweet!!!

11. Spending time with someone I care about can make my whole day. I have my list of favorite people I love hanging out with for specific needs and purposes, ha ha ha ha! But to spend a couple of hours with someone I care for... my girlfriend, best friends, favorite sibling, church friends... will plaster a smile on my face 'till I fall asleep.

12. Just have to say this. Getting flowers from a girl makes me blush eight shades of red... nothing more, nothing less(and I love it!!!).

That perked me up. but I have to stop... The smile on my face is starting to annoy me. HA HA HA HA!!!
