If Only I Could

Just when I thought I was safe from the endless play of blog TAG, Ptr. Jesse tagged me with this one, originally from Ptr. Rodel. I actually like this one, but it made me think... GRABE!!! Ka-pathetic ko naman because I was actually having a hard time thinking of what to write! So please, bear with me, as I wring my mind out of ideas of things I'd do IF ONLY I COULD.

1) Go to the US
I've already applied for a tourist visa TWICE and yeah... got denied that many times too. I am starting to get bitter already, but what's great about being denied twice is that doors of opportunities to travel in Asia started to spring out of no-where. Been to Hong Kong, China, Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia and Singapore, and I know there'll be more! PLUS, most of my trips out of the country are outreach trips, and that's more than a plus for me.

Why do I want to go there? Other than the fact that my Mom has been living in the US for more than 20 years, I wanted to visit, well... BROADWAY! And watch all the musicals I can! I grew up with music in the house, and I was exposed to that darn Sound of Music when I was about 5 or 6. Every morning until my Mom returned the video to her co-teacher(beta-max, ha ha ha ha!!!), I was watching it, singing along, and saying the lines along the actors. That movie had a very deep musical impact on me... even to what I wanted to study, but, God has a different plan for me, so... I followed my parents... and that's another blog entry so I'll shush now.

2) Take a course in music
If I had my way back when I was entering my college years, I might be a Doctor in Music right now. But, my parents... actually Mom, wanted me to take a business course, which, I took, and... never finished. A lot of people are saying it was sayang I wasn't able to finish the course (Hotel and Restaurant Management). Education is STILL the key, young ones!!! And because I don't want to influence you kids about the reasons why I dropped out of college... I'm not gonna say them. We all have different callings, so don't make mine YOUR excuse.

The GREAT thing about NOT taking music is... it has made my life a great testimony. If I did take music, the things God gave me last year and two years ago would seem, well, more expected. IF I was a music major in the university I wanted to attend to, then the nominations for Gawad Urian, Golden Screen, Annie Awards, and being mentioned in local newspapers, even in The New York Times and other newspapers around the world would have been a lot obvious. When I made that very simple music for that Indie film that made rounds all over the world, I remember doing it in just over an hour, and that I was praying every now and then; before, during, and after I was making it. I was convinced that THAT MUSIC I created wasn't my creation... it was Gods. And I still belive it was Him who whispered every note to that music. During that time, when people tell me how good I was, I just thank them and then direct them to the Proper Person whome they should be giving the praise to. IT WAS ALL GOD!

3) Go shopping non-stop
Ok, FINE!!! The term METROSEXUAL has been associated with me since it was made famous! I see nothing bad in making yourself presentable. Besides, I want to look good for The Boss I'm representing, baka sabihin nila ang cheap ng firm na pinagtatrabahuhan ko, 'scuse me, He owns the entire universe!!!

I love clothes more than any electronic doo-dad there is. If it's not IN at the moment, just wait a couple of years (or decades) and it'll make a comeback, tingnan ko lang kung bumalik sa uso ang Nintendo Family Computer.

Oh, ok, FINE, I also like electronic stuff, but not as much. Come to think of it, I never wear what's IN, I wear what looks good and feels good on me. It doesn't have to be expensive or signatured, but the thing is... the stuff that I like that looks good are a bit pricey... Thank God I don't have a credit card(and I doubt I'll ever own one, I don't even have a bank account). AND THANK GOD FOR UKAY UKAY!!!

Plus, people ask me for help when it comes to that area of, ugh... KAKIKAYAN. You know, what to wear, how to avoid pimples, which looks good with what, etc etc etc. I really have no clue why I know those things, I don't read magazines or intentionally watch t.v. programs with that topic, but I do, and sharing them to other people doesn't hurt.

So... there you have it... I was thinking of updating this... but... we'll see...

Ptr. Jesse!!! Pasaway ka din!!! We love you!!! :P

  2. thanks for sharing nio, love you man., same here i love to dress up .vain vain vain, i remember when were in singapore me and my wife's past time is in the shopping malls.

few days ago, while im having a shower my mind wonders ,if its good argument for those undergraduate whose making it big ,than those doctorate doing just enough for a living, one my cousin doing very well in advertising who have few units left in college, bill gates a drop out from harvard.etc etc. ,but its not an excuse. in the otherside of the coin ,like in singapore you cant work even a draftsman or engineering tech if dont have a degree. ,tough huh., to apply as permanent resident (PR) here canada as a principal applicant you should have a degree too.

  4. I remember one time sa isa sa mga concerts ng TRS, there was this guy who said it was tradition that crucified Christ, because He didn't followed the norm. Di ba he healed a guy during Sabbath which was considered against the law? So I believe, sa mata ng mga religious people at Christ' time, PASAWAY din sya...

    MABUHAY ANG MGA PASAWAY!!! :P
