The Lord moves in mysterious ways. Mere coincidences may not be just that. It's God who makes things work together for us. There's no accidents, just predestination.
As a kid, growing up, I always knew I'd be in the performing arts. I was surrounded by it. All members of my family were somehow involved in performing either in the church or at school groups. All of us sing. Some of us act. Some of us dance. Some of us play a certain instrument. But I do all of these things, and I guess I am predestined to be what I am now, a Christian performer. Performing has become my passion.
But I never took formal education for this passion. My parents, specially my Mom, was against me taking music in college. Actually, everybody around me was against it, even my so called friends. The only people who understood me, unfortunately, were people who really don't matter much to me; just mere acquaintances. So, I compromised. I took a business course and took tutorials in violin and voice on the side. After a couple of years, I was exposed to theater in my cousins' church in Makati. Still, a few years later, I got involved in probably the most important organization that I joined in, The Redeemed Stage.
No accidents. I joined the group at a time when it's leader, Rachel, was contemplating joining missions. Her contemplation turned to submission when I texted her about being a Noah and not a Jonah, and I had no idea about her plans about joining missions. So, Rachel joined YWAM; became a DTS student, and then a staff. After her responsibilities at YWAM, we revived The Redeemed Stage.
After a couple of years, the organization was challenged to put up a website, so Rachel looked at other websites to somehow get ideas as to how ours will look. One of the links she sent the website team was YWAM-NY's site, and it was the very first site I clicked to look at. I saw this PADTS thing, not knowing what it really meant. Performing Arts Discipleship Training School... my heart suddenly skipped a beat. With what I'm doing for The Redeemed Stage, this will be perfect for me. I prayed about it, sent information to my Mom about it, and prayed that she'd say yes and gives her blessing to me to go for it.
I talked with my Mom yesterday, somehow nervous that she'd say no...
She gave me her blessings to go and pursue it, but with the understanding that I have to raise my tuition for the PADTS! Once I'm there, she said she'll be the one who'd take care of my other financial, daily needs. PRAISE GOD!!! PRAISE GOD INDEED!!!
So, people, please pray for me. I am going to take the PADTS on New York but it's going to cost me around , but I know I can do this! GOD can make it possible for me! There are so many things I have to do regarding paper work plus the audition DVD, but I know I can do this!!! I may be the oldest student they'll be having, but I really don't care about it because it's GOD who's telling me to go. When? Maybe this September, maybe early next year... but I know I'm going. So, again, please pray for me about this.
YWAM-NY, here I come!!!
GO FOR IT NIO!!!! We'll be backing you up all the way. Never worry about the finances, paperwork, visa etc. When we know in our hearts that this is from God then we know that He's gonna provide for you and it's gonna be more than you can ask or think of.

ReplyDeletepano nga ba mang-encourage sa mga taong madalas na nangeencourage.. hmm a quote from W.H. Murray. Just in case you need it along the way.. haha. here goes.
...Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness. Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, the providence moves too. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one's favor all manner of unforeseen incidents, meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamt would have come his way.
Whatever you can do or dream you can, begin it.
Boldness has genius, power and magic in it!'
God is Jehovah Jireh. Go go go! :D

Unlike some of your friends, I hope you have the courage to stand toe-to-toe with these issues instead of evading my points, responding via ad hominems, or simply refusing to answer and instead blocking my user or deleting my posts, which is the dodgy and cowardly option.
